How our funding works
The Briggs Funding Process
Discussion
Potential grantees should begin discussions about applications prior to June 10 or December 10 for appropriate grant cycle.
Invitation
Invitations to apply will begin June 25 and December 20 following discussions from the potential grantee and completed interest form.
Submission
The Application Packet must be submitted electronically to the grant portal by the deadline. Proposals due August 1 or February 1.
Follow-up
Briggs desires to be a relational funder. Additional information may be requested to give your application the greatest likelihood of success.
Review
The Briggs Review Committee discusses each proposal prior to the Briggs Directors’ final decision.
Directors Meeting and Decision
Following the Briggs Directors’ meeting, decisions are announced
- Mid-November for the August 1 submissions
- Mid-April for the February 1 submissions
Grant Letter
Two Year Waiting Period
Briggs is a biennial funder. Wait 2 years before submitting another interest form.
2025-2026 Dates to Remember
June 10, 2025 - Deadline for discussions of potential applicants for Fall 2025 grant round. If an organization fits Briggs funding, interest form must be complete also.
June 25, 2025 - Applications sent to those selected to apply (following discussions with the potential grantee). Those not selected for the Fall 2025 grant round will be notified also with any feedback.
August 1, 2025 - Proposals due.
December 10, 2025 - Deadline for discussions of potential applicants for the Spring 2026 grant round. If an organization fits Briggs funding, interest form must be complete also.
December 20, 2025 - Invitations to apply begin (following discussions with the potential grantee).
February 1, 2026 - Proposals due.
